Welcome to the new "normal"

Breathe

“'You,' he said, 'are a terrible real thing in a terrible false world, and that, I believe, is why you are in so much pain.'” - Alice in Wonderland.

I find myself relating more and more to Alice in Wonderland lately. Although the story was written by an author on a trip spaced out from reality. It sometimes seems so fitting to the reality we are currently living. Maybe that's what we all need, a trip to escape this reality we are living in.

This can't be it.

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around everything going on. It's hard to believe, when I look out the window and everyone else seems to be going about their lives. Nothing seems to be changing. The days are getting longer finally, but the weather is not getting nicer...not yet.

It's hard to believe the world we are living in. I often wonder who is the game maker. Who is controlling the sims we seem to be. Who is pulling the puppet master strings. Nothing make sense.

Covid has taken years of our lives away, has taken people we love so dearly away from us. Years later and we are still going around in circles of this in and out of lockdown craziness. I feel so deeply for the children who are bouncing back and forth between online learning and in person. Who are wearing masks for hours a day. But, the reality of it is, do we keep our children home locked away from the world and safe from Covid. Or do we risk it and send them to school for their mental health and sanity.

Please, do not get me started about the vaccines. I am not here to judge or educate because personally I don't even think the people telling us to get these vaccines know what to do. However, I am at the point in this pandemic... life needs to get going.

We need to feel some form of normal again, whatever that may be.
