Gone in the Wind

Up for Grabs Assignment 1

For the up for grabs assignment I chose the topic "Gone in the Wind"

I went with this theme because when I first read the title I envisioned someone running in a field with tall grass and the wind blowing. I had a very different image in mind.

However, when shown explains that was kind of a running trending, a woman running in a field.

So, I had to get a little creative and more outside the box with my story.

I still went with the theme of running, because it was a very still day and I wanted the movement and motion.

But I found that when taking the photos the "Gone with the Wind" theme could also be a metaphor and not actually mean the actual wind its self.

It could be more about life, and how the wind is changing direction, life doesn't always go the way you want.

With these images I was trying to communicate the freedom you can feel running and going with the wind allowing the direction you're being pushed in to be freeing.

Being, accepting to going with the wind.

This image, I know there isn't really the gone with the wind, but the model. Had stopped because something caught her attention.

I thought that would actually flow into the story as she stopped running and changed directions, a lot like the wind tends to do. The wind tends to change.

So, wind could be the metaphor for change.

I had changed locations, not much just shift from in the forest to on to a dirt road, and she is still running.

I liked the change to the road, because in the forest it can feel trapping and you can feel enclosed. Where on the road she's hit freedom, openness.

So it brings in the last photo of her running looking back, as she is happy and free.
