Welcome to the Pause.

Let's hope 2020 teaches us something.

Pause.

The year 2020 started off like every new year does. With hopes of a new start, a fresh year. Something good. I don't know about you but I find New Years Eve to be a magical night, with dreams and hopes that a new year will bring you good luck and fortune.

But, this new year, hasn't brought a single good thing. A global pandemic. Locking people away in their homes for months on end with no bright light insight. A deadly disease we are fearing and losing millions of love ones to. The world pretty much stopped and left only the essential workers left at the front lines. Jobs are being lost, parents have to become one income family because someone needs to stay home with the children who can't attend school or daycares. Some parents are taking on the roll as teacher and care give while trying to work from home. This pandemic changed all our lives, and has thrown our countries into financial crisis to try and support the country in a time of need. Who knows when we will get back to what we consider normal living again.

On top of the pandemic, the United States is being invaded by Murder Hornets. If we didn't have enough to worry about. (I am not American but, we are close enough to them that if these bugs decide to take a trip we are only a hop, a skip, a jump away!)

And now, in 2020!! We are still dealing with racism.... why can't we as human beings grow up. "All lives matter", no friend Black lives matter... why does the colour of our skin define who we are and how we are treated. I cant even being to rant on about how disappointed I am with what is going on in the United States. It is 2020 people, we are so far advance in technology, and science, but so far behind in basic human rights and equality. We are literally throwing away everything that people of history worked so hard for and risk their own lives. We are going backwards.

How is that even possible. I can't even watch the news or clips on social media because it breaks my heart. Watching people exercising their rights. And being beaten, thrown to the ground, pepper sprayed and shot with "rubber" bullets. It's just horrifying. At first I kept my mouth closed and not because I was supporting the racist jerks in this world. But, because I felt I was not educated enough to speak up, I didn't want to say the wrong thing, or speak out of term. But, here I am. Absolutely disgusted with what is going on in America, and I say, in America because I have seen a few peaceful protest here in Canada that haven't ended with police becoming violent and force being used from either sides.

The media hypes things up too. They show us all the negative impact the protesters are doing, but they neglect to show us the hours and hours of peaceful protesting that took place before the violence and looting started. They neglect to show what was the force and push to turn a peaceful event into something so negative. It's heartbreaking to know that their are still people in this world that judge people by the colour of their skin. That children of colour are taught so very young that they need to be even more cautious. It absolutely breaks my heart.

Do your part. Speak up. Educate yourself. Be better.
