"family: a little bit crazy, a little bit loud, and a whole lot of love."
Nearing the end of the summer, I had a client reach out to me about possibly giving a new mom to be the gift of capturing her gender reveal. I was little bit hesitant because that is a little bit of an odd request. As their would be friends and family around with smartphones who could get some nice photos too. But they insisted on having a photographer.
Before the session, I made sure I had done my research and also knew what time of reveal they were doing. They chose a hockey theme, which seems more than fitting for both mom is Canadian and dad plays as well as coaches hockey. So naturally the theme fit.
So I got into position, camera ready.. Dad to be got ready, and took the shot....
Its.....
a....

Mom to be had THE best reaction! And I was sooooooo happy I got the moment perfectly! Her face was everything you couldn't make this moment up if you wanted to.

Who wouldn't want to do their gender reveal on a dock in the summer in beautiful Muskoka surrounded by family and friends (safety because of covid and all -.-).
But the reactions of soon to be mom and dad, absolutely priceless.
I am learning, that the more sessions I do the less likely I would like to ever do a wedding. I realized this more during this session only because in the background of all these photos were the people shooting the confetti cannons, and that is great and all, but they didn't make the photos more flattering. They were a distraction.

Not that you don't want them apart of your moment, but they were just an eye sore. The moment I looked at the photos they were the first thing my eye was drawn too. And with weddings you know having people in the background is inevitable.
Thank gosh for my photo editing skills and some photoshop magic, I could make these moments a little more intimate.
